Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS)
Exam Interview also called the Personality Test, is the final stage of the KAS recruitment process conducted by the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC). This stage evaluates a candidate’s personality, administrative ability, decision-making skills, awareness, and suitability for public service, rather than just academic knowledge.
Purpose of the KAS Interview
The main objective of the personality test is to assess whether the candidate possesses the qualities required to become a responsible civil servant in Karnataka. The panel tries to understand the candidate’s:
Personality and attitude
Communication skills
Leadership and decision-making ability
Awareness of social, political, and economic issues
Ethical values and integrity
Confidence and clarity of thought
Structure of the Interview
The interview is conducted by a board of experienced members appointed by KPSC.
It usually lasts 20–30 minutes.
The marks allotted are generally 200 marks (may vary depending on notification).
Questions are mostly discussion-based, not fact-memorization.
